When an Erumpent escapes Newt’s case and makes its way to Central Park Zoo, Newt tries to
entice the creature back into the case with a unique mating display. When asked about the scene at
an iTunes Q&A panel in New York with cast mates Katherine Waterston, Alison Sudol, Dan Fogler
and Ezra Miller, Eddie Redmayne said the description in the screenplay took him by surprise.
‘I was reading this one scene. “Jacob hides behind a thing, and then Newt performs mating dance
and then…” I went back down it and was like, “Newt performs mating dance? David?”’ (x)
